I used to have this private online journal (is that a paradox or what?) in some unknown site. I wanted to encourage myself to write journals as practice, but I couldn't seem to keep writing them. I thought it would be more interesting if I was typing the entries, so I found that site, and chose a private account. This was before my Livejournal started last year. And it actually worked for almost a year, until I bought my first journal notebook.
I was just going through it awhile ago, you know, the way I do sometimes with the old messages in the egroups. Never thought I could be sentimental, huh? Heh, yeah well. I do it from time to time. Always seem to forget though how much it's like opening a can of worms (forgive me for the cliche), or a Pandora's box, or whatever. Makes you remember the bad things along with the good. You can't exactly just choose the good and leave out the bad. After all, if you ignore the bad memories, then there would be a heck of a lot of holes in your memory, which would actually be a scary thing.
But sometimes, I do have this moments when I wish I can have a Paycheck moment...you know, the movie with what's-his-face--oh yeah, Ben Affleck--where he kept having chunks of his memory erased. Wouldn't that be cool? Being able to erase memories you want to get rid of...hmm. Dangerous thought, though. And probably not a good idea.
Oh yeah, one thing I could say about the entries in that old journal...I still find the way I wrote some of them quite good. Heh. That's a rare thing, coz I usually find the stuff I wrote a couple of years before very lame. We'll see in a year.
