I had only one class today--today being Thursday. But it was at 7:30 in the morning. And we got back our last exam result and our class standing. Fun thing to do first thing in the morning, eh?
Well, I flunked it...not that I was expecting anything otherwise. The exam sucked at best. Five entire boring chapters, but there you go. Not to mention the fact that I can't seem to pinpoint what Dr. Santos wants in our essays. I mean, there were some questions to which I knew the answer, and I thought I'd written everything I know already, but I always get no less than 3-point deductions. And I knew the data I'd written in my essays were right! Agh. I really hate essays. It's not as black and white as the objective type tests are.
Whoops. Wait, wrong answer. I'm a creative writing major, right? Blech.
As for my class standing. Well, because of my excellent exam results for the past two tests, I will have to do an extra-credit research in order to up my exam total to a 30 (I've only got 25 so far, what with the first exam being 14.5--passing grade: 14--and the 2nd being 10.5). I guess the research assignment we were given was okay--research on the religious rites of an ethnic group during the colonial period. And at least Cerz, Mike and I got 19/20 in our group report on the Frailocracy. I don't know how big the percentage of that group report is in our final grade, but it'll have to pull up our grade some, right? Mike was saying how our grade was great because he knew of people who had Dr. Santos for history, too, and they made this 10-page outline, but only got 18.5. I told him it wasn't really on the length but on the content, and he said that it was just because it seemed that the other group really worked hard on their outline. Hey, I worked hard on that outline! Heh.
