I feel physically and mentally drained. The exhaustion comes from deep in my bones. So many times in the past week, I've felt as if my head was about to spin right off my neck.
I don't know why, considering that it's supposed to be the semestral break, I don't have any classwork to worry about, and it's not as if the work at the store is that physically taxing. And during the sem, even though I was always swamped with something or other, I didn't feel this tired.
Maybe it's because I put in more hours in the store than I did in school. I wake up at 5:30 everyday. Mom and I leave for White Plains before 8, and it's a rare day when I come home from White Plains before 6 pm. That's two hours longer than the usual 9-5 job. I don't even enjoy the job, and it doesn't even pay. Usually, the hours spent just standing in front of the teller in the bank, making millions (I don't mean money) of transactions, are enough to make me want to crawl into my bed and sleep the day away. And I've spent hours contorting myself like a pretzel on the floor, trying to get comfortable as I organized the box of checks that the bank had returned. Many of them date back to 2001.
I'm glad it's Thursday. I'm glad tomorrow's Friday. At least, tomorrow, I'll only have to spend half a day in White Plains. I'm glad we're going to Baguio this weekend. I'm glad that, after tomorrow, I'll have a three-and-a-half day rest from work since Monday's the day I have to go to Ateneo to get my grades and regform. Whatever the hell happens to my grades, at least I've got my parents prepared for it anyway, and at least I get to rest for the rest of the day.
