I thought before that I was the only one who was having a hard time with her. After all, even I, at first, didn't have anything against her. Even midway through the whole Film & Design problem, I wasn't mad at her. Actually, I felt guilty most of the time. And yeah, I understood why she was mad. It was only towards the end, when she said that stuff about creating her own project if we didn't want to do it her way, that I got pissed off at her really good. I mean, the others, her guilt trips, her insinuations and glares, were somehow justified, even though I had a perfectly valid excuse (not for her, though). But that was a little too much. After all, she had been the one who had chosen to do the stuff the original way, and I was getting really sick of practically kissing up to her just to make it up for what happened. Especially if it meant possibly jeopardizing what we already had just to, er, satisfy her sudden burst of imagination.
But now, practically the entire block is against her. All of it has to do with our Fine Arts Festival come January, 2006. After all, she's the newcomer, the one who doesn't know us. But she's decided from day 1 to take over. She's not even one of the heads. Yumi is the head. But she can't seem to grasp the idea of committee heads and teamwork. She wants to be the head herself. She's even gone so far as to approach Ma'am Rica (our soon-to-be practicuum prof) to ask whether it was true that Yumi would need a co-head. She called up Yumi to tell her that she was with Ma'am Rica (whom she's supposedly tight with), who told her she needs a co-head *hint, hint*. I think she's even asked Yumi if she could be it. *shudders* She's not even the leader yet and she's already bossing everyone around Everyone who knows her has advised us never to give her any position of power. And it's obviously a wise advise. That girl doesn't only want to be a leader. She wants to be the whole damn Fine Arts Festival committee. She doesn't have an idea exactly what a block, a group, a team means. She can't seem to understand that if there's a leader, there has to be a group to lead.
First, she sets up a gig without bothering to inform the heads. Apparently, she, Geopet, Jay, and Anna had talked about it, but Jay said they should look for places first. But she suddenly went ahead and reserved a place, and told them about it after the deed was done. Jay had been surprised upon hearing it, but it was done. Geez, and she'd reserved it for the next month. Yumi and Jace only found out about it when she oh-so-sweetly asked Jace to make the promos. Not even thinking of permits from the school and time for promotions and all that. But it was done, so the rest of us accepted it.
But over the next few weeks, she did so many annoying stuff, such as bossing people around, even her own heads. At the same time that she bosses you to death, when it matters, she does what she wants anyway, makes moves and often irrational decisions without any thought to the rest of us. And she uses these not-so-subtle guilt trips, making it sound as if she's doing everything single-handedly, when even that cannot be blamed on us, since she doesn't bother to inform us of what's happening. And the most recent thing she did was to post the ads for the gig all over the school without informing the others and without even getting the required signature from DSWS. Because of her thoughtless act, we might get in trouble if DSWS gets wind of it.
I wish I'm a good person, someone who can talk about this reasonably and calmly. But I'm not. Actually, I can be quite cruel with words when it comes to people I just can't stand. Maybe I'd hold it in while that person is in front of me, but it just bursts out of me once I find someone who would listen. Maybe that's backstabbing, but as I said, I'm no saint. Besides, I'm done with understanding her and going out of my way to try to please her and make it up to her. I've nothing to make up to her now. I think I've paid whatever debts I have to her long ago. And it's not as if I'm the only one. Even those who could tolerate her before are out for her blood for this last episode.
Yes, she's managed to stir the rest of the block up. The block hasn't been this fired up against one of our own in a long time. Since first year, as a matter of fact. Even Jake is back to his old antics, the way he had been when Plib had been in our block. What's worse is that we can't do anything about it. Yumi's talked to her so many times, but she just doesn't seem to get it. We can't exactly evict her from the block, or keep her out of the project since the festival is the entire block's thesis. But if nobody does something, it'll be the thesis that would suffer. And then, there would be hell to pay.
