Let's dooooo the funk, let's do the first day funk!
So, today was the beginning of our first semester of our last year (God willing) in college. Not my first day of fourth year, since I took summer class, but still feels like it, considering the fact that I don't actually feel like I'm even in fourth year. I can't be! I'm not ready to go out into the real world! Somebody make the time stop!!!
Anyway, I had only two classes today: Practicum I and History 166. Surprisingly enough for a first day, both of the professors almost maxed out the entire hour and half allotted time for our classes. Usually, the professors just meet the students on the first day, call out attendance, hand out the syllabus, run through it quickly, then dismiss us. But these ones took some time discussing the semester outline.
But it was pretty ok, so far, anyway.
Practicum I -- Our professor is Missy Maramara. We were a bit apprehensive when we found out she's our practicum professor because she's a little...well...difficult to deal with as a director...or so others said. She admitted it herself. But so far, she's pretty ok as a professor. I mean, she's quirky, she's not boring. Plus, she's young, not much older than us, so she's not as stiff as some older teacher.
Um...just got a few butterflies in my stomach when I heard all about the individual proposal we would have to make for the sem. Er, I wasn't prepared for that, since I thought we were mainly going to work on our fine arts festival...and the book, which I always saw as a group work. I'm not exactly sure what I can propose as a nonfiction major. I mean, I can't exactly propose a production of my pieces... Unless I want to put the audience to sleep. But...Que sera, sera...
History 166 -- Dr. Totanes (or Dr. T.) is not bad. I mean, at least he has a sense of humor, though sometimes he can get corny. And he seems nice. Maybe I got a bit thrown off balance when I realized the class is a Filipino class. Not that I have anything against the Filipino language. It's just that I'm not quite the expert at it, and it takes some time to digest Dr. T's statements. But I'll manage...somehow.
Found out there were some people I do know in that class, even with Ina still with the Bayanihan Dance Troupe. Randolph from NSTP is there. And so is Paula, of Badminton class. And Liezl, Yumi's friend. And there's Boom, Diana's boyfriend, though I don't talk much to him. And of course, others I've come to know over the years, but don't necessarily talk to.
Well, tomorrow's Philosophy 103 and Theology 141. We'll see how that'll turn out.
