Second day is over. Again had two classes this day. Well, supposedly.
First was Philo 103--Philosophy of Religion. Have the same professor...Mr. de Jesus. I didn't really want to go to school early this morning because I didn't really want to be the first CW major he saw. I texted Yumi where she was before I left, and she said she was stuck in traffic in UP, and so was Darls...in traffic somewhere else. So, I, er, braved it to Bellarmine. Luckily, Jay was already there. Yumi arrived just before class started. Darls arrived late. Dianne Patawaran, our philo classmate last year, was also there. And Monette Atilano, a blockmate who was also a Povedan. Er, there were too many ex-Povedans there for my taste. Monette's ok, since she's my blockmate, and she's nice, but I didn't like the other Povedan alumni in the class.
Er, first day, and I got hit thrice, figuratively speaking. Started when milord did the roll call. "Patawaran... Pitargue... Qu(something)... Salvosa... Santiago." Upon mentioning my name, he suddenly snorted. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey.......!
Hit number 2:
Migs: Oh, I forgot to ask. Miss Pitargue... Hmm...So, should Miss Pitargue or Miss Santiago bring a dictionary everyday? *I didn't see this, but Yumi suddenly pointed at me behind my back. Baaaaaaad, Yumi, baaaaaaad.* Si Miss Santiago na lang. Miss Santiago, bring a dictionary everyday. *under his breath, but still loud enough to carry to the back* Since creative writing lang kayo.
Oh great. Talagang dadalhin ko yung higanteng dictionary sa Fine Arts Dept. Ha! Makita niya!
Ah...forget about hit number 3. It was stupid.
Damn, I wish there was still a written examination. There's nothing to alleviate whatever screwups we might have in the recitations and orals.
I spent some time afterwards hanging out in the library. Trying to read Wicked. Um...I prefer the play, thank you. I really don't like tragic endings. It depresses me. I may be 20 years old, and supposedly less naive, but I still happy-ever-afters. Or still some semblance of a happy ending, since the ending of the play is kind of bittersweet. And I guess I just am too sick of political stuff. Try hanging out with my dad.
I met up with the others for lunch afterwards. Braved Gonzaga and experienced a slight bout of agoraphobia. Damn, where's the peace and quiet of Gonzaga second floor?!? Fine, the caf's always been on the noisy and crowded side, but that was a circus! They've made an obstacle course out of it, what with the humongous and various food concessionaire booths they'd crowded into that small space. And the chairs and tables scattered in whatever space left.
And of course, there was the ORP area. You literally have to dive through the sea of students, with its mix of human aroma, to get to our sanctuary in front of the pubroom. I can't wait until the first few weeks are over and people stop buying books in the ORP.
Darls and I headed to CTC 103 for our theo class. The prof wasn't there though. He left a note on the board telling us he couldn't come, and asking us to divide into groups of 5.
Whee... Darls and I felt pathetic for some time, not knowing who to ask in our group. We eventually found groupmates we were satisfied with: Karlo, Bay's (our old blockmate) ex-boyfriend and Darls' blockmate, Kring--my groupmate back in Psych days, and her friend Camille.
We also discovered that the crushes of most of our friends are in our class: There's RS143 of Cerz (who we considered targetting for our group before I finally recognized who he was...much to Cerz's frustration), Scabbers of Jing, and Ina's. Kulang na lang yung sa amin ni Darls....hahaha.
Had to spend some time waiting for the guidance testing at 4:30. Yumi, Cerz and I went to National Bookstore. Bought a notebook for my classes and a book to read. Bummed around for a while in starbucks. Hung out in Xander's office. Man, I really want to get that job in the Fine Arts Dept. Please, please, please let me get that job.
Guidance testing was a joke. My answers were inconsistent. Couldn't figure out which I preferred--scheduled or unplanned. Well, we'll see what my interpretation would be.
Blah...I'm not doing too well with this entry. Better shut up before I completely shame myself in my own eyes as an aspiring writer.
