"I don't recommend taking my class next sem. Wala naman kayong natutunan sa akin sa class na 'to. Diba Miss Santiago?"
Haha. Right. Like I was really going to answer that question...thirty minutes before my oral exam. I may be at times masochistic, but I'm not that masochistic. I'm not that crazy...yet.
And then, he follows it with, "Tignan mo, wala naman akong makukuha mamaya sa inyo eh."
Wow. Gee. Thanks. Way to make us feel confident about our upcoming oral exams. I felt so much better then. Bitter, bitter. Haha.
I was in my exam-time hyper mode, especially since, I was just having a humorous conversation with the others waiting for their turns like I was. So when it was finally my turn and My Lord let me into the Philosophy Department, I opened my big mouth and said, "Eh, wala ka naman makukuha sa amin, Sir, diba? Why bother with the exam? What's the point? We're all going to die anyway."
Whoo. Idiot. Haha...I was, let's just say, my very honest self awhile ago. I even remembered to clarify some things and assure him that I did not cry after the last oral exam last semester.
As for the exam itself...um. I don't know? I was my usual not-so-charming self when it comes to oral exams. You know, stammering, babbling nonsensically. I have no idea whether My Lord even got half of what I was trying to say. Though I did like the thesis statement I got out of that wonderful die. #4...about the two elements of belief. Of course, being the expert oral communicator that I am, I managed to screw that up too, even though I knew the stuff. But at least I didn't faint or whatever. I'm still alive. I kept talking, no matter how nonsensical the things I was saying were.
After the exam, My Lord asked me about the rest of the creative writing gang, and if I was the last one of the gang taking the oral exam. We got to Jay, and he said, "Ah...yes, Mr. Salvosa. My favorite. You're not hurt na pinagpalit na kita sa kanya diba?"
I just snorted. "Sir, wala akong pakialam."
Actually, I think I'm enjoying being invisible in that class. I've learned in the past three semesters that, for him, his "favorite" is usually his "favorite" victim. I think I enjoyed the greater anonymity in this class better. I mean, I didn't even need Mr. Manaois' back to hide behind. Hehe.
And leaving that...
I got an A in theo!!! The final marks were posted outside Dela Costa Hall, and I went and checked it before my philo orals. Fine, I was hoping I would get an A, and my friends said I was sure to get an A, but I wasn't sure because of the traumatizing oral exam last weekend. But I actually got a 28 in that exam! Mahal ko na ang sarili kong wika! Dahil sa tagalog, nadagdagdan ng limang puntos ang grado ko sa orals! Though Dr. Tejido wrote above the list, "Unofficial, Tentative Final Marks". But I'm hoping that's for the benefit of those who want to appeal and that he's not planning to alter anything else for those who don't.
At least that's less to worry about when it comes to my QPI this semester. All the sweat, blood and stress (and unbelievable boredom) paid off, I guess. Though, I still don't recommend Dr. Tejido for theo. Wala talaga akong natutunan sa klase niya kundi ang kung paano bolahin ang propesor...at gumamit ng Filipino (more thanks to my Filipino dictionary and my previous Filipino teachers than to him).
Here are my expected (not all my dream) grades for this sem:
Theology 141 = A (eto, sure na...yata.)
History = B/C+
Philosophy = C/C+
Poetry Seminar = B/B+
Practicum = B/B+
Haaaaay. Tignan na lang natin kung ano ang lalabas na mga grado ko sa November 7.
And just like that, my second to the last semester in college is over. Sem break na!!! Isang semestre na lang, graduate na!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shut up, Edlyn.
*nods* Ok.
