Well, I finally had my Ateneo Law School Admission Test this morning. Spent some time last night, in between procrastinating by reading other, uh, non-academic books, and revising an old story, trying to work on the review exams. Not that I actually did much of it. Just enough so that I would be able to say without having to lie through my teeth that I studied...some. Heh. Zonked out early, anyway...sometime around 10 or something, though dad would argue and say that that's actually way past proper bedtime already. Woke up at five, left home at about 6:40 to pick up Dianne on the way to Rockwell.
The weird thing was, Dianne was stressing out about the test on the way, but I just...couldn't feel anything. Except for a very slight case of nerves, I had none of the usual pre-test butterflies in the stomach. I thought it was going to happen by 7:30 or something, but it didn't. Even when we were already sitting there in the classroom, working on the exam, I wasn't scared or stressed. Maybe it's because I've kind of taken Tita Jenny's comments to heart. If I pass, I pass. If I don't, I don't. I'll do what I can, then I'll leave the rest up to fate and God. The truth is that the result of the exam didn't feel so vital for me as it is for Dianne. I don't know if that's good or bad. What exactly does that say about my real feelings about going to law school after college?
Anyway, moving on, most of the kids I saw there were Ateneans as well. Many familiar faces there, besides Dianne, Diana, Raph and Mela. I even saw my freshman year Fil 12 professor there. Mrs. Jing Panganiban-Mendoza, who was supposed to be my thesis adviser. I noticed her as soon as I arrived, standing beside Raph and Mico Samson, but I didn't recognize her. Then, she suddenly came up to me, smiling and asking me about my thesis. I think I just stared at her for a few (fortunately short) moments, wondering if I was the one she was talking to before I finally realized who she was. We talked for some time. Apparently, she too had decided to take the Ateneo LSAT. Imagine that, if we both end up going to law school in Ateneo next year, we'll be classmates, or at least schoolmates. Small world! I can't imagine not calling her Ms. Jing, or something of that sort. Oh, and she said that my thesis was the most feasible of the ones she'd read (yay!). Haha...ego-tripping lang. And then, we went into the classrooms, and started on the tests. Three hours later, we were done.
The results are going to be posted on April 1. April Fool's Day. I don't know if they did that on purpose or not.
I met up with my parents at Power Plant afterwards. It's mom's birthday today, so the two of them, er, went out on a date while I was taking the test. Had lunch first, as I was already hungry by then, and as a birthday gift, I treated them both to a movie. Flight Plan. Not bad. Pretty good actually. Jodie Foster's a great actress. Sorry, I haven't got Jake's brilliance when it comes to dissecting movies. Went shopping with them afterwards, bought a book at Fully-Booked (man, I love the bookstore in Rockwell), bought a new bag, since my dad was again complaining about my well-worn, over-used bag.
I'm home now. They're out with some friends, watching Regine's concert. I've been trying to get into the ACP website, but it looks like it's faulty again. Not that I care all that much. I can't seem to muster enough energy to care about what class to take for ACP, no more energy than I seem to have right now, trying to write a decent entry on this blog. Pathetic.
School starts on Monday. Theo, Philo and Iconography. Last sem, last sem. Remind me to make the most of this sem. It's the last one I'll ever have.
