We helped Fr. Javellana and Xander start setting up for the belen exhibit. By "we", that would be Jace, Cerz, Yumi, me, Jihan, Jay, Mitch and Ina. Got roped into carting back exhibit items from the FA Theater and the tech booth above the Exhibit Hall back into the Exhibit Hall. Some--Jace and Jihan--stole the heavy black curtains hanging by the windows of the Painting Room so that we could drape them over the blackboards that we're using as a divider. We dragged heavy boxes, papier-mache and ceramic figurines, model ethnic houses and wooden "Christmas tree" shelves.
It was hard work. The things we had to carry were heavy and huge so that we could barely see ahead of us while carrying them. When we finished, we were sweaty and dirty from the soot and newsprint. Even our shirts and jeans were dusty. But for some reason, I wasn't tired afterwards. Actually, I was pretty hyper, and all of us were laughing and clowning around, even while we had these huge loads in our arms. There's something very exhilarating in doing manual labor, especially when you're with friends. You're sweating, but it's a good kind of feeling. Your muscles feel looser and limber, and you're full of energy.
That's probably why I hate working at the store. All I do there is office work or go to the bank. It's boring. Unlike the work awhile ago, where there's no time to feel sleepy.
Or maybe it's simply the fact that I was working with friends and working with things that are actually fascinating for me.
Just a little advertisement to the actors and actresses out there who somehow ends up reading this blog
