Christmas comes but once a year, now it's here, now it's here!
Christmas day is almost over. Actually, my christmas day was really yesterday. December 25 is usually just a continuation of Christmas.
Went shopping with my family in Glorietta--a tradition we started way back when. For the first time in some years, we were complete. Or at least, my sister appeared towards the latter part of our trip in Glorietta, looking exhausted and sleepy. But we had fun, though I know my mom wanted to kill me half the time coz I couldn't decide what shoes I want for her Christmas gift to me. It's our annual frustration, so we're pretty much used to it hehe. Kept telling her that getting a pair of rubber shoes again would be impractical since I already have some sneakers at home that I haven't gotten around to wearing yet (I usually go through shoes one at a time--until they completely fall apart). I wanted sandals...or slippers that I could wear outside so that I wouldn't have to worry about socks anymore. Finally got what I wanted...and we were both happy with them. Besides, they were a hell of a lot cheaper than the rubber shoes that my mom kept pushing on me.
We went home at around 5:30, with all our feet aching. Wrapped gifts, went to sleep for awhile, then went to the 10 pm mass. Freakin' cold during the mass. All the doors were open, and we were close to the side entrance, so I was really freezing all throughout the mass.
Noche Buena afterwards. Ate a lot. I'm really going to need to cut back on food after the holidays. Or I'm not going to fit into my clothes anymore haha.
Gift-opening right afterwards. What did I give them? For my parents, brother and I shared (well, I contributed) resources for a couple of spa...er, tickets? For my brother, I got (with some contribution from my mom since my brother chose a pretty expensive one) a bag. For my sister, I got a pair of slippers which my mom helped me pick, since I'm no good at that.
What did I get? Mom and I pretended that I had no idea what her gift was to me heh. Brother and sister gave me a new blue sweater (which made me wish I'd opened their gift before the mass haha). And dad gave me a digital camera. Yes! One more item off my wishlist. Haha...I couldn't believe my eyes when I tore open the shoe box the camera box was in and saw the label on the box. Practically tore through the package. And the camera was so small and so thin that I thought at first that it was the battery. Haha, took awhile for me to actually find the camera itself.
We went to sleep at about 2 am. Had to wake up early so that we could take my sister back to Manila, then go home to Bulacan for the usual Christmas gathering in my clan's ancestral home. We were late actually, so by the time we got there, most of them had already given out gifts. We hung out at my great-grandparents' house for awhile, then went to my grandparents' house just a short drive away.
I tried targetting my relatives for buyers of Romeo and Juliet tickets. Discovered to my frustration how hard it really is to sell tickets, even to your relatives. We had a little debate going about it actually. Turned into a huge joke about incentives and such, like transportation, food and stuff.
I think I got some sympathy, though. Tita Annabelle and Tita Sasa agreed to buy a couple of commercial tickets this new year.. Tita Annabelle used to sell Rama and Sita tickets, and she knew how hard it was to sell. Tita Weng approached me after the huge debate and said that she would ask her nieces if they wanted to watch, then they would buy student tickets. Tita Raquel agreed to buy Richelle and Marvin student tickets. Tita Rona suggested that I give them posters to post in Gazebo Royale, then suggested that I ask Tito Arnold to buy tickets because he likes watching stage plays. I'll look for him come New Year.
Haaaaay. I think I'll be able to sell the student tickets without much problem. Yumi told me that Abet will buy a ticket from each of us. Tita Weng might buy tickets for her nieces, and Marvin and Richelle are watching. Then, there's Krisha, who said she might buy a couple of tickets. But my problem's going to be selling the commercial tickets. They really are too expensive.
Hopefully, someone will pity me and buy them.
