Jana of CentralBooks was just here awhile ago to give me the second proof of my block's book. I finally saw the book as it was in printed form and held it in my hands. There was this tingling in my nerves that comes from holding the very first tangible proof of what my block had been through these past several months. Some of our sweat, blood and tears had been poured into making that book possible.
I gave Jana the go signal already. In a few days, we can finally consider ourselves published!
I don't care what anyone else will say. I'm no information design student. I don't care if it's just bias. I believe I'm entitled. I loved the book! I thought it beautiful. I loved it, I loved it! :P
And I admit now that maybe I was a little harsh when I commented that Jana was getting to be a little unreliable. She told me how it was working for CentralBooks and their impossible demands, and I can see now that she was really loaded down with work. Maybe I sometimes wish that she would answer text messages faster, or inform me if she couldn't go to a set meeting, but I suppose now that I know how overworked she'd been, I can admit it wasn't that bad. Besides, they gave us such a great deal, and in such a short time. It's hard to get annoyed for long.
And I just held the book in my hands!
So, yeah, I'll recommend them to others. I already started actually, with Ina Luna. And yeah, there's a part of me that wants to be able to try to work for them, too. Haha. Not as designer, though. I'm so sick of Photoshop and InDesign! :P And I haven't even learned half of their functions yet!
