Finally, I managed to carve out some time to go to the LTO to get my student permit renewed. Mom and I went early this morning while there still weren't too many people there. So, now, a year after idiot me let my old permit expire, I've got a spanking new student driver's permit, and I can finally start driving (or learning to drive, that is) again. I think I've forgotten whatever I've learned last year. I'm probably going to need to take another crash course before I can go for that non-prof license. So, if ever you come across an erratic car on the road, don't get mad...that's probably me.
Let's just hope this one doesn't expire again before it's changed to a real license. Edlyn kasi! Ang praning!
Mom and I also went to Landmark, by Glorietta, today to hunt for a dress to wear for my graduation on March 25. Yep, I, Edlyn Margaret Santiago, am going to be wearing a dress again. Magpapakababae uli ako!
Ah, clothes shopping. It's always been one of the banes of my existence. My mom and I always inevitably get into some sort of argument (of varying degree, depending on our level of tolerance that day) whenever we find ourselves on that truly impossible task of looking for a dress for me. We, let's just say, have different tastes. She usually goes for the elaborate, flouncy, fussy dresses. I look for the ones with the least fuss on them. I try to avoid lace, sequins, ribbons and other such glittery stuff. So, when we started sifting through the dress racks awhile ago, the thought on my head was, "Oh, no, here we go again. This is going to take hours."
But surprise, surprise. Congratulate me. Maybe it was because I didn't want to go through the usual fuss of shopping again, but I was my unusual cooperative self today. Want me to try that dress? Sure! What about those stilettos with the pointy end? No problem! It's got to be a record. The second dress I tried on was the one that my mom and I ended up agreeing on. And it's a halter dress! This black dress with the straps buttoned up at the back of the neck. Haha, another type of clothing scratched off my no-can-do-never-will-wear list.
Ah...wasn't so lucky with the shoes, though. I can tolerate trying on dresses, as long as they fit. But it's hard to tolerate shoes when they hurt my feet. By the end of the trip, I wanted to smack my head with the heels of the shoes in the department. And we ended up walking out without any. Haha. Bahala na. Magpapaa na lang kung magpapaa.
As for the baccalaureate mass...ah what the hell, just wear the toga. Haha.
