First day of work
First funworks stint awhile ago. Basically, it was semi-assisting for me. Jill was the main assistant. I was there to observe, help out a bit, just to learn the ropes first. It was in Ateneo Grade School, where I think they were having a ten-day program. Sort of like summer enrichment program. Or maybe it is summer enrichment program. I've no idea. I never attended any of those back in high school.
Aumar (or Awesome Aumar) was the lead scientist awhile ago. The topic was Science of Magic, just like the one we watched in SM North before. It's really cool actually, getting to learn tricks, like how to free yourself from chains, how to make stuff disappear and reappear. It's like being in on a real magic show. And it doesn't make you feel disappointed, learning the tricks and all. After all, I'm old enough to know that those "magic" stuff are all tricks, but I'm still young enough to be able to appreciate the way it works. So though I work with them, I still get to experience it as well.
Aumar was right, though. Those atenean kids can be real smart-asses. One of the little drawbacks of dealing with kids who are smart and privileged.
Aumar: Hi, what's your name?
Edel (the kid, not my sister): Wait, let me just write it down on my video game.
Wow. Haha. A bunch of you-know-whos in the making in that first batch. The second batch was quieter, though, and I have to admit it did make me sleepy, coz I already saw the tricks the first time around, and there were no smart-asses to liven things up.
We'll see how it goes for tomorrow's stint.
