Ah yesterday. One of the precious few stress-free, relaxing (fine, that's redundant) days I've had these past several months, especially in the past couple of weeks. It's not very often that we get news that give us something to smile about, or do things to loosen us up somewhat.
But yesterday was a good-news, relaxing day. I thought it would get ruined when Atty. Chua announced that he would be returning our midterm exams. What I remembered of the midterm exam for Legal Research, I preferred not to think about. But surprise, surprise, I finally passed one midterm exam. Not bad. Sure, it's only a 1-unit exam, but at the rate things are going, I can't afford to be picky. A line of 80 is a miracle for me. I'll take every piece of good news I can get and celebrate.
And then, there's seeing my friends. It's great seeing old friends after so many months. And I saw both sets yesterday. First, the KFC right after Legal Research. Aileen, Nikko and Sheree met up with me in Power Plant. It was somewhat disappointing, though, coz the others weren't able to go. But, hell, I hadn't seen these UP friends since the first week of regular classes in law school. It was a quick visit, though. We just rushed through a late lunch at Shakey's, then caught The Devil Wears Prada (2nd time for me) at 3:20. I had to leave not long after because I had plans for the evening as well.
Plans which involved the FAFAs (or some of them). Yumi and Cerz (she freakin' cut her hair!) arrived at my house not long after I myself got home. Then, Geopet and Jace unexpectedly arrived at my house, too, and we all walked to Teriyaki Boy in Katipunan, where Kim was waiting. Quincy followed, then the crazy couple, Jihan and RJ. It was great seeing them, too. Hadn't seen them, except for Geopet, since that time we (Cerz, Jace, Geops and I) sat in during Missy's class. Got to catch up on each other's life. Yumi and Quincy are still in GELPI. Geopet is still, unhappily, working at that call center. Cerz is waiting for word from the call center company she was interviewed for last Thursday. Jihan's working in Makati until Novemeber, then moving to Eastwood. Jace is...happily free. And me? I'm in law school, more or less fighting to be happy and to stay there.
We got stranded at Teriyaki Boy for quite some time, though. Rain and flood caused heavy traffic in Katipunan, and cars were having a hard time passing through the streets because of the intense flooding. We waited for Kim's dad, who was willing enough to drive me, Cerz and Yumi back to my house. Meanwhile, I whipped out my camera and played paparazzi to the ever-willing "models". By the way, if you all want to see your lovely faces, I already uploaded the pictures in my Multiply account. Go check them out if you want.
And so, it's over. Cerz and Yumi left late this morning. It's back to reality once again for all of us. Hopefully, once everyone's settled and fully adjusted to this new world we've found ourselves in, we can do this a lot more often.
